clients. We work closely together to create the best
possible outcome for all parties in each situation.
Jan Stocks:
As an attorney, I have practiced family law for over 35
years. I was approved by the California State Bar Board
of Legal Specialization as a Certified Family Law
Specialist when that specialty was first offered in
1980. Since that time I have practiced exclusively in
the field of Family Law and Adoptions. In 1990, I
completed a 40 hour intensive mediation study program
and I have been handling divorce mediation cases since
then. I have been honored by my peers by being selected
as a past Chair of Certified Family Law Specialist
Committee of the San Diego Bar Association; as a member
of the State Bar Family Law Section Executive Committee
for 10 years and as a past president of the Southern
California Chapter of the American Academy of
Matrimonial Lawyers.
I know family law and take yearly legal education
courses to make sure my knowledge is up to date. In
order to assist my mediation clients better, I have
taken advanced mediation seminars through the
Association of Attorney Mediators; the Strauss Mediation
Program at Pepperdine University and through the
American Bar Association. For many years, I have
participated as a volunteer settlement judge at Family
Law Court.

Kristine Pogalies Colburn
I have been an attorney for over 17 years practicing
exclusively adoption and family law. I enjoy helping
people solve their legal problems and I have served as a
settlement judge for the family court. I have taken
mediation training and keep up to date on the latest in
family law. I have an expertise in preparing documents
for division of retirement plans which is helpful to our
clients in understanding these types of issues. I am a
member of the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys and
the Academy of California Adoption Lawyers.
